She desired to start her career as a model, but the modeling agency she worked for recommended her for a role in a movie titled La Boum in 1980 and so started her journey in the film world. She has worked in more or less 38 movies and has established her name among the best actresses.

Early Career

Sophie Marceau started her career with a role in 1980’s La Boum and also appeared in its sequel La Boum II in 1982. Following the success of La Boum, Sophie Marceau earned a series of significant roles in European movies including L’étudiante, Pacific Palisades and Fanfan. She played her roles to perfection and as a result earned leading roles in international movies like Braveheart and Firelight, which also proved to be successful at the box office. She also appeared in Fort Saganne in 1984, which also co-starred Catherine Deneuve and Gérard Depardieu.Other prominent movies she appeared in, include Happy Easter, Police Descent into Hell, The Student and Chouans!.
