Top ten movies of Hollywood famous actor: Steve Carell

Famous Bollywood actor Steve Carell

Born Steven John Carell on August 16, 1962 in Concord, Massachusetts (US), he dropped the first name when he took up acting and is known to the world as simply Steve Carrel. Steve is an actor, comedian, voice-over actor, producer, director and a screenwriter. At age 48, he may just be reaching the apex of his career in some field and emerging in others. Steve caught the public’s imagination during a long stint on the Daily Show (TV series) and on the series, The Office. He stretched himself for that long reach from television to a leading role on the big screen in The Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy in 2004.

Carell has enjoyed tremendous success as a film star, but once dreamed of being a radio broadcaster. Sometimes, it works out best that we don’t get our first choice in careers!

Carell’s strongest point as an actor is his ability to ad-lib in comedic roles and a very expressive set of facial features. Those expressive features help him to bring across some of the less comedic moments, making them believable, too.

The weakness that plagues Carell in his acting career seems to be the same one that has haunted so many leading men who started out as comedians or got their first taste of notoriety in comedic roles. Once seen and embraced by the viewing public as “funny”, they have a much harder time convincing audiences to accept them as serious actors.

Carell won the MTV Award for Best Comedic Performance for his role in the 2005 hit, the 40-year old Virgin. The film, Little Miss Sunshine, earned quite a few awards that Carell shared with the rest of the cast, such as:
• SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture
• Phoenix Film Critics Society Award for Best Cast
• Broadcast Film Critics Association Award for Best Cast
