Legendary Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has been working in film industry for 3 decades now. During his career, he has appeared in almost 150 films so far. Jackie has acted not only in Hindi film cinema but also in Guajarati, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi and Kannada. Jackie made his acting debut in the film Swami Dada directed by Dev Anand. He was the leading actor in the film Hero directed by Subhash Ghai. In the film he acted opposite Meenakshi Sheshadri and other actors like Sanjeev Kumar, Shammi Kapoor, and Amrish Puri. The film was a real success and box office hit in India. This film earned both the lead actor and actress huge start shortly after the release of the film. After this film, Jackie got many film offers. He was mostly seen with Anil Kapoor in the films. Such films include Yudh, Karma, Andar Baahar, Ram Lakhan, 1942 A Love Story, Parinda and many others. Owing to his role in the film hero, he was referred to as Jackie Dada. He was the most popular actor in mid-80s. His performance in Kaash released in 1987 was much appreciated and liked by public. For his Outstanding Contribution to Indian cinema Jackie got Special Honour Jury Award in 2007. He won many Filmfare awards, too.
