Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia started her film career with the film Taarzan: The Wonder Car. Ayesha won the Filmfare Best Debut Award for this film in 2004. In 2006, she appeared in the film Dor directed by Nagesh Kukunoor. She did the role of a young widow in the film and her performance was highly acclaimed. Her first commercial success came with the film Wanted which was released in 2009.

Ayesha started her career in media from commercials. Her first commercial was with Shahid Kappor. It was ‘I am a Complan Girl’. She also worked in a music video named Meri Chunarii Udd Udd Jaye by Falguni Pathak. At that time she was only 17 years old. At the age of 19 she appeared in another music video. This was Shake It Daddy. This video brought her to the attention of film makers. Ayesha Takia got film offers and signed her first contract for the film Socha Na Tha. Since there were delays in the making of this film, Tarzaan was released first and became the first debut film of Ayesha. She did just one Telugu film with Akkineni Nagarjuna. The film was Super. In the film Wanted which was released in 2009, she appeared opposite Salman Khan. This film was a blockbuster and gained her a huge applause and became the first commercial success of her career.
