The legendary actress Nargis, although not present among us but is still alive in her memorable contributions which became her immortal by her majestic performances. She  and Raj Kapoor touched the audiences heart with their portrayal of the perfect romantic duo of that age so that the single  film of ‘Barsaat’ became the symbol for R.K. Films. She played classic doomed femme fatales in a string of films as well as tragedy indeed made her more superb heroines than comedies. Her marriage to co-star Sunil Dutt was also memorable as she was married to him after he dramatically saved her from a fire on the sets. She was born as Fatima A Rashid in Allahabad.  She entered in the films as child star but appeared as a leading lady in ‘Taqdeer’ (1943). After that she started making her name as Raj Kapoor’s heroine in ‘Barsaat’, ‘Andaz’, ‘Awara’, ‘Shri 420′ and ‘Anhonee’, creating a quixotic mythology that endures even today.
