Drew Blyth Barrymore belongs to Barrymore family, well-known for producing brilliant actors. She was born on February 22, 1975 in California, United States and started her acting career as a child star in 1980 in the movie titled Altered States. But it was her role in E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, which made her the most popular child star in America.
As an adult she played various roles in movies including Poison Ivy, Everyone Says I Love You, Bad Girls, Irreconcilable Differences as well as Boys on the Side, before appearing in The Wedding Singer and then in 50 First Dates, both of her movies proved to be successful and helped her establish her name among the finest actresses of the time.
In 1995 in partnership with Nancy Juvonen, she established a production house which later produced movies including Never Been Kissed, Charlie’s Angels, Music and Lyrics and 50 First Dates, to name a few. She won a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in Irreconcilable Differences in the category for best supporting actress. In 2002 Drew Barrymore appeared with the veteran Julia Roberts in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, followed by her lead role in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle. She earned an Emmy Award nomination for Olive, the Other Reindeer.
She won Saturn Award in the category for best actress for her performance in Ever After (1998), Blimp Award in the category for favorite movie actress for The Wedding Singer as well as for Ever After and Golden Globe Award in the category for best actress in a TV Film for Grey Gardens (2009) to name a few.
