Popular Pakistani film actor Agha Talish

Agha Talish was best known as Talish. He was the great villain in Lollywood history. He was an Indian by birth. He played the leading role of villain in most of his films and became popular because of it. He was one of the finest actors in the history of Pakistani cinema.

His first film was a Punjabi film named Nath which was released in 1952. In 1957 he got a breakthrough by a role in which he sang ‘Yaro mujhe muaaf rakho, main nashey mein hun’ in Saat Lakh.

His film Shaheed was released in 1962 and was a greatest hit. The film was based on a theme that revolved around Palestine. The script of the film was written by Riaz Shahid and its music was a product of Rasheed Attre. The film was directed and produced by then popular director Khalil Qaiser and became the basis of the successful career of Talish later on. The film’s one liner Uss Bewafa Ka Seher by Muneer Niazi, a renowned poet, was an instant hit. Talish died in 1998.  

Talish was an actor of international standards. He played many momentous roles in many big films like Shaheed, Farangi, and Zarga. He wasn’t just limited to the roles of villain but also played roles of a comedian in films like Barey Mian Deevaney.
