Shermeen Obiad is an Oscar Award winning documentary maker and she belongs to Pakistan. Shermeen Obaid is basically a journalist and she has also done film making. Shermeen Obaid was born in the year 1978 in Pakistan. Shermeen Obaid is the first Pakistani who had won an Oscar and she is also given Hilal-E-Imtiaz by the Pakistani government. Shermeen Obaid is also included in the list of the most influential people across the globe for the year 2012.

Professional career of Shermeen Obaid

Shermeen Obaid began her career by writing at just the age of 14. The writing of Shermeen Obaid consisted of under privileged people of the society whose happenings have never been shared with the world. Shermeen Obaid had written for American and Canadian periodicals. In the year 2011 Shermeen Obaid commenced her own film organization with the name of SOC films. Shermeen Obaid had won Emmy Award and Academy award due to her documentary movie. The talented Shermeen Obaid had also won other awards. The work of Shermeen Obaid revolves around social cause of children and women.  Shermeen Obaid had also won Lux style achievement award. Sharmeen Obaid had also been decided to be the SAARC goodwill ambassador of AIDS/HIV. Sharmeen Obaid had tremendous achievements at a very young age.
