11th Lux Style Awards 2012
Lux Style Awards are the most prestigious and glamorous awards of the TV and film industry in Pakistan. In 2012 the 11th Lux Style awards ceremony took place in Karachi and was hosted by none other than our very own Master of Events Ali Ahmed Butt.
The main feature of the 11th Lux Style Awards was the tribute paid to the King of Ghazals Mehdi Hasan by Ali Zafar. Although it is very difficult to come up to the level of Mehdi Hasan’s singing, Ali Zafar did justice through his soulful rendition of the song “Mujhay tum nazar sey”. Ali Zafar also paired up with Humaima Mallick to give a scintillating performance on his songs from the Indian movies he had acted in. Tributes were also paid to the legend Ahmed Rushdie as Ahmed Jahanzeb, Amanat Ali and Bilal Khan sang while Faisal Qureshi, Meera, Sana, Mathira, Ahsan Khan and Junaid Khan danced to the melodious tunes. The lady who did us proud by winning an Oscar Award Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy was honored with a special award.
In the films category, Shoaib Mansoor’s Bol emerged as the winner bagging all coveted prizes such as Best Film, Best Actor Male (Manzar Sehbai) and Best Actor Female (Humaima Mallick). For terrestrial TV Nauman Ijaz and Sanam Baloch were declared Best Actor Male and Best Actor Female respectively while Faisal Qureshi and Saweera Nadeem won the honors for satellite TV.
