Legendary and popular Pakistani film actor: Mustafa Qureshi

Popular film actor of Pakistan: Mustafa Qureshi

The role of villain doesn’t suit many actors as it suits Mustafa Qureshi. Mustafa Qureshi hails from Hyderabad and was born on 11 May 1937 before Pakistan came into being. He is a Pakistani film actor and he worked in television as well. Mustafa Qureshi is an icon of Punjabi movies in which he mostly plays the role of a villain. It was a Punjabi film that gained him much popularity in this field. What became a trademark was his iconic role of a villain in Punjabi film Moula Jat. And for many years to come he took on the same roles. However, he regrets the thing that in almost all of his films he was a villain when he really wanted to show people his versatility in acting.

Mustafa also did Urdu movies but the ratio of Punjabi to Urdu is obviously high. If we add up all the films, Urdu and Punjabi, which he has done then it makes up more than 500 movies. Though he gained popularity by Moula Jat, his first film was Lakhoon Main Aik and marks the start of his career as a film actor. This film was released in seventies and Mustafa played the role if a villain. Mustafa’s mother tongue is Sindhi owing to his birth in Sindh and he is married to a famous Pakistani singer of 1970s, Rubina Qureshi.
