The Golden Globe Awards are presented to recognize the excellent performance on television and film. These awards are bestowed by the 93 members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The formal dinner and ceremony is an important part of the award ceremony. The first Golden Globe Awards were held at the 20th Century Fox studios in Los Angeles in January 1944. The Golden Globe Award winners from 1944-1951 are as follows:
