Some of the winners of the IIFA awards in particular categories over the years have been highlighted below starting from 2000 til to date.

IIFA 2000- The Millenium Dome, London

  • The best film-Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
  • The best director -Sanjay Leela Bhansali
  • The leading actor male -Sanjay Dutt for an exceptional performance in the movie Vaastav
  • The leading actor female – Aishwairya Rai for an unbeatable performance in Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam
  • Best music- A.R. Rehman

IIFA 2001- Sun City

  • Best Film- Kaho Na Pyaar Hai
  • Best Director- Rakesh Roshan for Kaho na Pyaar hai
  • Best Actor- Hrithik Roshan for Kaho Na Pyaar Hai
  • Best Actress- Karishma Kapoor for Fiza
  • Best music- Rajesh Roshan for Kaho Na Pyaar Hai

The year 2001 was known as the year for Hrithik Roshan because he gave a new talent to the industry!

  • Best Director- Ashutosh Gowarikar for Lagaan
  • Best Actor- Amir Khan for Lagaan
  • Best Actress- Tabu for Chandni Bar
