Talia Rose Coppola, popularly known as Talia Shire is an American actress, known for her roles in movies like Godfather and The Rocky Series. She was born on 25th April, 1946 in New York, United States of America and started her acting career in 1968.

Early Career

Talia Shire stepped into the world of movies in 1968, appearing in the movie titled The Wild Racers. In 1970, she played the role of Nurse Cora in the movie titled The Dunwich Horror followed by another role in Maxie. In 1972, she landed a role in The Godfather and reprised her role in Godfather Part II, released in 1974.

The major breakthrough in her career came in the movie Rocky co starring Sylvester Stallone, which went on to become a huge success. In 1978, she appeared in two movies including Prophecy and reprised her role in Rocky II.  After phenomenal success of Rocky and Rocky II, she earned a role in Rocky III released in 1982, Rocky IV released in 1985 and Rocky V released in 1990. In 1990, she landed a role in the third sequel of the Godfather series.

Career Highlights

Talia Shire earned her maiden Academy Award in 1974 for her role in The Godfather Part II, which helped her career a great deal. She won her second Academy Award nomination for her role of Adrianna Pennino in the movie Rocky. She is also a recipient of National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1976.
