Bollywood awards are grooming fast and Filmfare awards are no exception. 53rd Filmfare Awards were held in 2008. The award ceremony was colorful and most of the Indian film stars attended this show. Aamir Khan, one of the leading actor from the famous Khan trio of Bollywood missed these awards as usual. Although Aamir Khan’s movie had earned many nominations, he still didnt take part in the award shows like many years in past. Bollywood’s 53rd Filmfare in 2oo8 thus had “Taare Zammen par” but aamir was missed!
India’s most prestigious awards, Filmfare Awards were held at Yash Raj Studios and hosted by Saif Ali Khan and Shahrukh Khan. The Times Group and Idea Cellular presented these awards. Bollywood movies are facing a decline of creativity in the recent past. Despite the ever improving technical facilities in Indian film making, the quality of work is on the decline. 2006 was however a year of great creativity and a lot of great movies were made in this year. Bollywood Awards of 2007, especially 2007 Filmfare awards (52nd Filmfare awards) displayed a huge competition among the best and most creative in Bollywood.
The 52nd Fair One Filmfare Awards ceremony was the most prestigious awards ceremony of India. It was presented by Fair One and The Times Group. The venue of these awards was Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai. Karan Johar, Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Juhi Chawla hosted the show. Some of the best Indian cinema movies entertained the audiences. The story lines were brilliant and offered everything from national issues to domestic surprises. 51st Filmfare Awards were held in 2006. Although there were many other actors who were honored in this award show, the show was actually stolen by Amitabh Bachchan the legendary Indian actor. Amitabh Bachchan outclassed himself and the movie Black not only won critical acclaim but also was a huge box office hit.
Year 2006 was a black year. Yes, the movie Black by Sanjay Leela Bhansali won the hearts of audiences. Indian cinema which is famous for masala and melodramatic directions accepted and welcomes the movie Black in which Rani Mukherjee played a role of deaf, dumb and blind. Amitabh Bachchan giving his tremendous performance did justice to his role and claimed many awards. In addition, this year came up with other Indian blockbuster movies like Bunty Aur Babli, Parineeta, Sarkaar and critically acclaimed Mangal Pandey. Filmfare Awards are undoubtedly Indian cinema’s most respected awards. Also, Fimlfare awards are the oldest film awards in India. In the year 2005, Filmfare celebrated 50 years of its tradition of awarding and honoring the acting talents in Bollywood. Along with other attractions 50th FilmFare awards held in 2005 had a brilliant dance performance by Shahrukh Khan, the King Khan of Bollywood, where he danced with almost all the leading ladies from 1950s to 2005.
This year entertained the audiences with absolutely fantastic collection of movies. It could have been the hardest awards as the jury had to decide between spectacular movies like Veer Zara, Swades, Hum and Hum Tum. Farah Khan, the Indian choreographer, debuted with her movie Main Hoon Na which did a good business on box office with a very melodious music from famous Indian musician Anu Malik. Although there were many hit films of the previous years, Devdas stole the show. Devdas, the remake of Old Devdas which was originally played by the legendary Dilip Kumar. Only, this time it was Shahrukh Khan, the king Khan of Bollywood who played Devdas.
These awards were held on February 21, 2003 in Mumbai. The remake of Devdas with its majestic presentation in terms of sets, dances, songs, and dresses made it the biggest success of the year. although there are many award shows that take place every year, FilmFare awards are still very special. One reason for the specialty held by Bollywood FilmFare awards is that these are the oldest and thus the most prestigious awards in Indian film industry. 2002 Filmfare awards (47th Filmfare Awards) were colorful and exciting awards show as the previous Filmfare awards ceremonies. Lagaan was nominated as best foreign language movie in the Oscar Academy awards.
