Academy Awards are presented every year to the people  providing best performance in different movies. 82nd Award’s ceremony was held in 2010 in Log Angeles presented by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science. In these awards, “Hurt Locker” won six awards, “Avatar” won three awards and “Up” won two awards in different categories. The best director award was won by Kathryn Bigelow for her film “the Hurt Locker”, and became the first women to win this award. The best picture award was won by Mark Boal, Nicholas Chertier and Kathryn Bigelow for the film “The Hurt Locker”. The award of the best actor was won by Jeff Bridges for the movie “Crazy Heart”. Sandra Bullock was selected as the best actress of the year for her film “The Blind Side”. In other categories, Christophe Waltz won best supporting actor award for “Inglourious Basterds”, Mo’Nique won best supporting actress award for the film “Precious”, Mark Boal won best original screen play award for the film “The Hurt Locker” and Pete Docter was selected as the best animated feature winner for “Up”. Best sound mixing and editing awards were won by the film “The Hurt Locker”.

The 83rd Ceremony of the Academy Awards was presented by AMPAS in 2011 in California. In these awards, “The King’s Speech” won maximum awards, “The Social network” won three, “The Fighter”, “Alice in Wonderland” and “Toy Story 3” won two awards each. The winner of the best director award was Tom Hooper for his movie “The King’s Speech”. This movie was also selected as the best movie of the year. Colin Firth won the best actor award for his outclass performance in the movie “The King’s Speech”. Natalie Portman was selected as the best actress for her movie “Black Swan”. Christian Bale and Melissa Leo were selected as the best supporting actor and actress for their performances in the movie “The Fighter”. Randy Newman was selected as best original song writer for his song “We belong together”. “The Social network” won the award of best original score. “Inception” won the award of best sound editing and mixing movie academy award. The award of the best art direction was won by “Alice in Wonderland” for art direction. “Inception” also won the best visual effect award for its excellence visual effects addition in the movie.

The 84th Ceremony of Academy Awards took place in 2012 in California presented by AMPAS. Different celebrities won awards in different categories for their excellent performance in various films. The movie that won the most awards was “The Artist” directed by Michael Hazanavicius and “Hugo” with five awards each. “The Iron lady” won two awards during the ceremony in two different categories. The award of the best picture has won by the movie “The Artist”. The best director award was won by “Michel Hazanavicius” for the same movie. Jean won the best actor award for his outclass performance in the movie “The Artist”, while Meryl Streep won the best actress award for her performance in “The Iron Lady”. Other award winners were Christopher Plummer for best supporting actor in movie “Beginners”, Octavia Spencer for best supporting actress in the movie “The Help”, “Man or Muppet” for the best original song and “Hugo” won both the best sound editing and mixing awards. The awards of the best film editing and the best visual effects were won by “The girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and “Hugo” respectively. “James Earl Jones” and “Dick Smith” won the Academy Honorary Awards for their long time services to the movie world.
