The 2004 Oscars Awards – A Million Dollar Dream Come True
The 77th Academy awards turned into a million-dollar night for Hollywood superstar director, Clint Eastwood’s tough, and gritty film, Million-Dollar Baby. The knockout film not only managed to take home the Best Motion Picture Award, but added to its haul with wins in other categories, too, like: Best Actress Academy Award 2004 (Hillary Swank), Best Director Academy Award 2004 (Clint Eastwood), Best Supporting Actor Academy Award 2004 (Morgan Freeman). These wins came in addition to the film having been nominated in several other categories, as well. In fact, the unlikely film about a female boxer scored such a knockout that some people might tend to forget other films and other Hollywood stars and starlets took home their share of awards that night, as well.
So, aside from the million-dollar haul the top film garnered, here are some of the other films, actors, actresses and other filmdom professionals to be honored with the presentation of an Academy Award for their work during the 77th Academy Awards Ceremony:
Best Actor Oscar Award 2004 – Jamie Foxx for Ray
Best Actress in a Supporting Role Oscar Award 2004– Cate Blanchett for the Aviator
Best Animated Feature Film Oscar Award 2004 – The Incredibles
Best Cinematography Oscar Award 2004– The Aviator
Best Original Score Oscar Award 2004 – Finding Neverland
Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar Award 2004– Sideways – Alexander Payne & Jim Taylor
Best Original Screenplay Oscar Award 2004– Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind – Charlie Kaufman
Some years, a film comes along that seems to take on all comers and win. 2004 was, it seemed to most, the year of the Million-Dollar-Baby-Party. Who will celebrate wins in the 2010 Oscars? Tune in and see.
