62nd Academy Awards – Daisies for Oscars!

The limelight of the 62nd Academy Awards or Oscar Awards 1990 was Billy Crystal opening the show with a song about the nominees for the Best Picture. Followed by performances from Geoffrey Holder who sang two numbers – “Kiss the girl and under the sea” – from the hit Disney movie “The Little Mermaid”.  Apart from this “Driving Miss Daisy” won the Academy award for Best Picture as well as Jessica Tandy became the first ever eldest female to win the  Best Actress Academy Award. Best Supporting Actress Oscar Award 1990: Brenda Fricker – My Left Foot

Best Original Screenplay Oscar Award 1990: Dead Poets Society

Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar Award 1990: Driving Miss Daisy

Best Foreign Language Film Oscar Award 1990: Cinema Paradiso – Italy

Best Documentary Feature Oscar Award 1990: Common Threads: Stories from the Quilt

All in all there were some great wins though some critics said it would be better to revote some of the wins.
